A significant mobilization of fire services was deployed to Marki on Wednesday afternoon, June 3, following reports of a forest fire near provincial road 631 that threatened to spread rapidly.
Rapid Response to Forest Fire
On Wednesday, June 3, shortly before 3:00 PM, a forest fire broke out in Marki, Wołomin County, in an area adjacent to provincial road 631. Due to the nature of the initial report and the risk of rapid expansion, the incident was treated with high priority, prompting the dispatch of numerous firefighting units from both Wołomin County and Warsaw.
Operations and Site Assessment
The fire affected approximately 3,000 square meters of forest floor near the DW631 route. Firefighters from the Wołomin District Headquarters of the State Fire Service, local Volunteer Fire Departments, the Warsaw Fire Academy, and JRG 10 and JRG 15 units were sent to the scene.
Containment and Aftermath
Upon arrival, responders found the situation less severe than anticipated. The fire, limited to the forest undergrowth, was quickly spotted and brought under control before it could spread to larger areas of the forest. Some units were called off while in transit, and local teams remained to extinguish hotspots and secure the perimeter.
No injuries were reported during the incident, and the fire was successfully contained at an early stage thanks to the swift reaction of the emergency services.
