Former Foreign Minister Calls Nawrocki “Like Trump”

Former Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz blasted President Karol Nawrocki’s approach to Ukraine, accusing him of echoing Trump and undermining Poland’s credibility.

Poland’s Credibility Questioned

Czaputowicz said Poland has lost credibility because it has not participated in the Geneva peace mission and has ignored Ukraine’s EU membership aspirations. He noted that the president’s commitment to deny Ukraine EU membership undermines any security guarantees the country could receive.

Nawrocki’s Ukraine Strategy Criticized

The former minister charged that Nawrocki’s refusal to allow Ukraine to join NATO and the EU, coupled with a lack of guaranteed protection, shows a lack of consistency and weakens Poland’s standing internationally.

Accuses Trump‑Like Behaviour

Czaputowicz called Nawrocki’s claim of waiting for President Zelenskiy in Warsaw “Trump‑ish,” arguing that Warsaw is not Washington and that such rhetoric is misleading in a crisis. He argued that the president’s stance reflects a broader dismissal of European obligations.

Call for European Cooperation

Nawrocki maintained that the only entity capable of compelling Russia to peace is the United States, particularly Donald Trump, and urged closer EU‑USA collaboration. Czaputowicz highlighted that this view ignores the need for European support and NATO participation.
