On Monday 8 December the District Court in Świebodzin delivered a verdict concerning the incident that took place on June 26 on the S3 expressway. The court found former Lubuskie marshal Marcin Jabłoński guilty of causing the collision. He must pay a fine of 4,000 PLN and is prohibited from driving for 1½ years.

A witness video of the collision was presented and proved decisive for the court. Judge Piotr Filipczak stated that Jabłoński’s conduct was aggressive and unjustified. The incident occurred on June 26 near Sulechów in Lubusz Voivodeship, where a Skoda and a BMW collided. Jabłoński, driving the Skoda, was overtaking the other vehicle. After the collision he refused to accept the ticket, resulting in the case being taken to court. Media reports indicate that he caused a disturbance with police officers and claimed that the police mishandled the situation.
