University of Silesia rector slams former PiS MP for offensive remarks about deceased F-16 pilot, Mjr Maciej Krakowian, and vows consequences.
Universrity of Silesia Statement
The University of Silesia has released a statement condemning the remarks by former PiS MP Marek Migalski, who referred to the F-16 crash in Radom as a “catastrophe.” The university emphasized that such language was inappropriate and dismissive of the tragic death of a pilot highly regarded by many.
Academic Misconduct Allegations
Professor Ryszard Koziołek, the university rector, argues that Migalski’s comments amounted to breaches of academic ethics and honesty. He noted that, while public discourse on social media should be protected, it comes with responsibilities for those who possess academic titles.
Pilot Criticism
Migalski, a political scientist and former PiS lawmaker, criticized the deceased pilot, calling him a “criminal” and claiming he made an “unimaginable mistake” in the crash that killed Mjr Maciej Krakowian during Air Show demos. He also suggested that the pilot had caused a crash costing over 50 million, despite the pilot’s reputation among his peers as one of the country’s best F-16 instructors.
