Piotr Pyzik, a former Law and Justice (PiS) MP and deputy minister of state assets, has died, as announced by Paweł Szefernaker on social media platform X.
Political Career and Early Activism
Piotr Pyzik’s political path began with his involvement in the Independent Students’ Association at the Silesian University of Technology in 1980 and subsequent cooperation with the Solidarity movement. Following the imposition of martial law in Poland, he was interned and forcibly conscripted into the military.
After 1989, Pyzik was active in various non-governmental and humanitarian organizations, notably participating in relief convoys to Sarajevo. He served as a member of the Polish parliament and held the position of deputy minister of state assets between 2021 and 2023.

Paweł Szefernaker paid personal tribute to Pyzik, recalling their shared experience in Katyn on April 10, 2010. Other party leaders, including Jarosław Kaczyński and Mateusz Morawiecki, honored his years of service and dedication to the country.
PiS politician Przemysław Czarnek remembered Pyzik as a kind man and a committed public servant. For his professional achievements and social involvement, Pyzik had been awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
