Former Polish FM: “We’ll Be Happy to See Putin and Nawrocki at the Same Table”

Former Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz stated Poland would welcome Vladimir Putin and President Karol Nawrocki at the same table during international meetings.

Peace Council Participation

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz commented on Poland’s potential participation in the Peace Council during a Radio ZET interview on February 12. He suggested the President has no choice but to accept that Poland will not join the Peace Council, as declared by the Prime Minister.

Czaputowicz noted that Poland could contribute to addressing the important international issue of peace in Gaza by participating in the Council, allowing observation and influence over its development.

Putin’s Presence Not an Obstacle

According to the former foreign minister, Vladimir Putin’s presence would not prevent Poland from joining the Peace Council. He drew parallels to sitting next to Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov at the UN Security Council and participating in G20 meetings where Putin is also present.

“If Vladimir Putin appears in the US, then Karol Nawrocki will be there and we will be happy about it. We will consider it an honor,” stated Czaputowicz.

Poland-US Relations

The former minister in the United Right government acknowledged understanding that Washington communicates with Moscow while the Polish ambassador cuts ties with the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. He emphasized that ethics are less important than interests, noting that US talks with Putin serve their interests.

G20 Invitation

The United States has invited Poland to participate in the G20 summit scheduled for December this year in Miami. US Ambassador to Poland Tom Rose described Poland in January as “one of the world’s wonders” and “a growing global power” with a trillion-dollar economy, the strongest military in Europe, and as the guardian of NATO’s eastern flank.

“President Donald Trump recognized this first and, together with Marco Rubio, provides Poland with unprecedented support,” added the US Ambassador.
