A four-vehicle crash on the S8 near Ostródzka Street in Warsaw on May 25 left one car in flames and a delivery van hanging off the roadside barriers, triggering major traffic disruptions.
Details of the Multi-Vehicle Crash
The incident occurred around 9:00 PM on the S8 route toward Marek at the level of Ostródzka Street. Four vehicles were involved in the collision: three passenger cars and a Fiat Ducato delivery van.
The passenger vehicles included a Ford and a Toyota, both marked as app-based ride-hail services, and a Hyundai used for blood transport. Following the collision, the Ford caught fire.
Emergency Response and Traffic Impact
Five fire brigade units, including the City Operational Group, were deployed to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the burning Ford and secured the site and the remaining vehicles.
One person, the Ukrainian driver of the Ford, was injured and transported to the hospital. No other participants sustained injuries.
The transit lane toward Białystok was completely blocked, forcing traffic onto the local road. Delays affected drivers heading from the Grot-Rowecki Bridge toward Marek for several hours.
