Four-Year-Old Boy Dies After Fall From Fifth-Floor Apartment

A four-year-old boy died in Bydgoszcz, Poland on Monday, April 20th, after falling from a fifth-floor apartment window.

On Monday, April 20th, an incident occurred in Bydgoszcz involving a four-year-old boy falling from a window of an apartment on the fifth floor of a building located on Chołoniewskiego Street.

The boy, who fell from the window, has died.

Rescue Efforts

The child received resuscitation attempts. He fell onto a balcony on the first floor of the building, and the circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated by Sergeant Jakub Skrzypek of the Municipal Police Headquarters.

The child was transported to the hospital. Firefighter Karol Smarz stated that assistance was provided in transporting the child to the ambulance, with resuscitation continuing en route to the hospital. The boy was then transferred to the hospital’s emergency department.

Tragic Outcome and Investigation

Despite the efforts to save him, the boy’s life could not be saved. A prosecutor’s investigation is underway to determine the cause of the tragic event.

According to unofficial reports from TVP3 Bydgoszcz, the child was left home alone for a few minutes while his 26-year-old father went downstairs to help his pregnant wife carry groceries from the car. The 25-year-old mother was taken to the hospital due to shock; both parents were sober.
