FSB: Explosives Hidden in Shoe Insoles Shipped from Poland

Russian security services intercepted a shipment from Poland containing 504 explosive devices concealed within heated shoe insoles, destined for Russian soldiers.

FSB Intercepts Explosive Shipment

The Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the seizure of a shipment containing heated shoe insoles concealing 504 improvised explosive devices. According to the FSB, a Ukrainian intermediary tasked a foreign national with collecting the shipment in Moscow.

Route Through Belarus

The FSB stated the shipment was transported from Poland to Russia via Belarus. The explosives were reportedly intended for Russian soldiers participating in the war in Ukraine, disguised as humanitarian aid.

Device Specifications

FSB bomb experts determined each device had an explosive force equivalent to 1.5 grams of TNT. Detonation would occur upon connecting the insoles to a power source, potentially causing injury to soldiers.

Alleged Ukrainian Drone Purchase Attempt

The FSB also reported thwarting a Ukrainian intelligence operation aimed at purchasing fiber-optic drones for alleged “terrorist attacks” in Moscow. These claims have not been independently verified.
