The fire department closed the street and cordoned off the entire area. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic were halted in the immediate vicinity.

Students from the nearest wing of the nearby school were moved to a more distant section of the building, away from the probable hazard. Classes could continue but were reorganized under the guidance of the authorities.
