Gazeta.pl Journalist Alina Makarczuk Receives Ukrainian Order of Merit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Alina Makarczuk, a Gazeta.pl correspondent, the Order of Merit for her reporting on Ukraine since 2022.

On Radio, TV and Communications Workers’ Day, President Zelensky presented the Order of Merit to 21 journalists, including Alina Makarczuk.

Career Highlights

She began her career with Espreso.tv in Kyiv, spent nine years working at Polish radio stations Polskie Radio RDC and ESKA, contributed to TVN24, and produced a program for Super Express. Makarczuk co‑founded the radio station “Z Wami FM” for Ukrainian refugees in Poland and authored a book on Ukraine’s First Lady.

Current Role

She currently serves as Director of Partnerships at Gazeta.pl and formerly headed the Ukrainian service at Ukrayina.pl.
