Gen. bryg. Piotr Wagner is dead. Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz bid farewell to Gen. bryg. Piotr Wagner. “For years of impeccable and responsible service, he faithfully carried out tasks for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. He was an unquestioned authority, an officer of the highest standards, a role model for many generations of soldiers. His departure is a painful loss for the military environment and the entire community of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate” – emphasized the Vice Prime Minister and offered condolences to the general’s family.

Gen. bryg. Piotr Wagner was repeatedly decorated, including with the Military Cross of Merit, Afghanistan Star, Gold Medal Armed Forces in the Service of the Fatherland, Gold Medal for Merits for National Defense, and the Meritorious Soldier of the RP Badge.
Career Highlights
Gen. bryg. Piotr Wagner began his service in 1989 at the 10th Long-Distance Pipeline Battalion in Rów as head of the automotive service. From 1992, he held this position in the 2nd Chemical Defense Regiment in Grudziądz, and after the unit was restructured into the 2nd Chemical Defense Battalion, he became head of the technical section.
In the years 1997-2007, he served in the Pomeranian Military District in Bydgoszcz, and from 2007, he commanded the 52nd Człuchów Land Repair Battalion. From October 2008 to May 2009, he was in the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan as logistics chief.
In 2010, he was assigned to the 1st Logistics Brigade in Bydgoszcz, where he also managed logistics. From 2013, he served in the Logistics Directorate-P4 of the Polish General Staff. In 2016, he was appointed deputy head of technical services in the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate, in 2020 he took the position of deputy head of logistics, and in 2022, deputy head of the inspectorate – head of logistics. In 2023, he was promoted to brigadier general.
