German Media Report “Wielki Bu” Frequented Karol Nawrocki; Extradition Procedure Underway

A German extradition case for Patryk M., nicknamed “Wielki Bu,” is in progress, with German press alleging his past connection to Polish President‑in‑exile Karol Nawrocki amid claims that the trial may be politicised.

German Media Claim

German outlets report that “Wielki Bu,” a figure known as Patryk M., faces extradition from Germany where he was arrested. Dr. Jan Sternberg wrote on the RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschlands portal that the suspect is a friend of Polish President‑in‑exile Karol Nawrocki, citing their shared hooligan past.

Sternberg noted that M. could face a prison sentence and warned that “Nawrocki must be worried.”

Possible Political Influence

M.’s lawyer argues that the proceedings against his client may be politically motivated. Consequently, the author of the RND article leaves open that a deal could be offered, potentially enabling M. to seek a lighter sentence.

Dr. Sternberg suggests that such a settlement could involve the “disclosure of incriminating material about Nawrocki.”

Nawrocki’s Response

President‑in‑exile Karol Nawrocki’s press secretary, Rafał Leśkiewicz, told TVN24 in mid‑September that Nawrocki explained his acquaintance with “Wielki Bu.” He said they had known each other many years ago, had fought in the same martial arts hall, met once, took a photo together, and visited the Institute of National Remembrance.

The spokesperson added that there was “no secret.”

Extradition Unfolds

The extradition procedure for Patryk M., known as “Wielki Bu,” continues as German authorities consider the request and potential legal ramifications.
