Poland’s GIF reminds pharmacies that compounded medical marijuana must be prepared individually under strict legal protocols.
Legal Definition of Compounded Medicines
The Polish National Medicines Institute (GIF) cites the pharmaceutical law’s definition of a compounded medicine. This includes products prepared in pharmacies based on an individual medical prescription for humans or a veterinarian’s prescription for animals.
Prohibition on Ready-Market Treatment
Compounded medicines cannot be treated as ready-made goods. They also cannot be dispensed in the same form as the supplied pharmaceutical raw material.
Pharmacy Preparation Requirements
Every stage of preparation must occur within the pharmacy and adhere to the specific legal regime applicable to such products.
