The incident occurred on Saturday, February 21, in the town of Olszyna (Lower Silesian Voivodeship). Media initially reported the girl fell from a fifth-floor balcony, but police clarified it was actually the fourth floor.
The child was hospitalized in Jelenia Góra and her condition is reported as stable.
Father’s Arrest and Charges
A 34-year-old man, identified as the girl’s father, was tested and found to have approximately 1.7 permille of alcohol in his system. He was subsequently detained.
The father was charged with intentionally exposing a five-year-old child to direct danger of life or serious bodily harm. He admitted guilt and provided explanations to authorities.
The man had no prior criminal record and there were no previous police interventions involving the family. He was not placed in detention but was placed under supervision.
