Gourmand from Woli Apprehended. Ordered, Ate and Didn’t Pay – 25 Charges of Fraud

A 39-year-old man in Warsaw’s Wola district has been detained for allegedly dining and dashing at restaurants 25 times.

Modus Operandi

Police from Warsaw’s Wola district have detained a 39-year-old man suspected of fraud. The perpetrator reportedly used the same method each time, ordering food at restaurants for various amounts and then requesting the bill be added to a hotel room, claiming his father was staying there.

Pattern of Deception

This was not a one-time incident. The suspect allegedly operated in similar ways across multiple dining establishments, not just in hotels. Police received a report about a customer refusing to pay, leading to an investigation that revealed a pattern of behavior.

Legal Proceedings

The suspect faces 25 criminal charges of fraud with total losses exceeding 12,000 złoty. By decision of the Warsaw-Wola Regional Prosecutor’s Office, he has been placed under police supervision. Fraud in Poland carries a potential penalty of up to 8 years’ imprisonment.
