Police have launched an investigation after several dead puppies, some discarded in a plastic bag, were discovered in a forested area of Marki on Monday, May 11.
Discovery in the Forest
On Monday, May 11, dead puppies were found in a forested area near Spacerowa and Okólna streets in Marki. The animals, estimated to be between one and three weeks old, were discovered shortly after they were likely abandoned.
Some of the puppies were found wrapped in a plastic bag. Authorities believe the animals may have been discarded only a few or several hours before they were located.
Community Reaction and Reward
A member of a local animal lovers’ social media group publicized the incident, describing the act as “cruel and inhuman.” The post urged anyone with information regarding suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area to contact the police immediately.
A reward of 1,000 PLN has been established for information that helps identify the person responsible. The author of the appeal has also guaranteed full anonymity for anyone providing relevant details.
Concerns for the Mother Dog
The public appeal highlighted the potential danger to the puppies’ mother. It is suspected the female dog may still be searching for her young, and the sudden separation poses a health risk due to milk accumulation, which can cause significant pain and medical complications.
Police Investigation
Local police confirmed they received the report and dispatched officers to the scene to verify the finding. Investigators are currently conducting activities to determine the identity of the person responsible for the animals’ deaths.
Individuals who observed suspicious behavior or vehicles near Spacerowa and Okólna streets on May 11 are urged to contact the police directly.
