At approximately 7:30 PM, emergency services received a report of a head-on collision between cyclists on Wąchockie Street in Saskie Kępy. The incident occurred on a dedicated bike lane.
Details of the Accident
Initial investigations suggest the cyclist, who was riding with his approximately 4-year-old child, was descending from the bridge when a woman cyclist entered his path. The head-on collision caused the woman, a 48-year-old, to fall and hit her head on the asphalt. She was unconscious and transported to the hospital, where she remains in a pharmacological coma. Notably, the woman was not wearing a protective helmet at the time of the incident.
Police Involvement and Injuries
Policemen from the Road Traffic Department are examining the exact circumstances of the accident. All involved parties were found to be sober. Fortunately, the child and the cyclist with the child sustained no injuries.
