Head-On Collision Near Warsaw; One Vehicle Catches Fire

A head-on collision between a Honda and a Hyundai on March 31st near Warsaw resulted in no injuries, but a fire erupted in one of the vehicles.

Collision Details

On Tuesday, March 31st, a head-on collision occurred on provincial road number 718, on the border of Pruszków and Warsaw West counties, and the localities of Duchnice and Ołtarzew, involving a Honda and a Hyundai.

The incident took place on a bend in the road, before the intersection of DW718 with Południowa Street. Initial findings indicate that the driver of the Honda, traveling from Pruszków, crossed into the opposite lane and collided with the Hyundai, which was traveling correctly towards Pruszków.

Emergency Response

Firefighters, two medical rescue teams, and the police were dispatched to the scene. During the securing of the damaged vehicles by firefighters, the Honda caught fire.

However, the fire did not spread and was quickly extinguished.

No Injuries Reported

Medical personnel examined the individuals involved in the incident. No injuries were found in any of the people, allowing the police to classify the case as a collision and conclude operations at the scene.

Driver Penalized

The 20-year-old driver of the Honda, who had held a driver’s license for approximately two years, was determined to be responsible for causing the incident.

Police issued him a fine of 5000 Polish złotych.

Road Blockage

Provincial road number 718 was completely blocked in the area of the collision for about an hour due to the ongoing operations. The disruptions ended after the wrecked vehicles were removed and the work of the emergency services was completed.
