Poland’s Deputy Health Minister announced healthcare wage increases will proceed as scheduled on July 1st, following failed negotiations on postponement.
Failed Agreement on Minimum Wage Valorization
Deputy Minister of Health Katarzyna Kęcka announced on Monday that an agreement could not be reached during a tripartite team meeting regarding the postponement of minimum wage valorization.
As a result, wages in healthcare will increase on July 1st.
Financial Impact of Pay Increases
“There will be pay increases in July, and we will all bear the financial consequences of these increases,” Kęcka stated, adding that an agreement was not achieved.
8.82% Wage Increase Scheduled
Minimum wage increases in healthcare, according to the so-called Act on Minimum Remuneration in Healthcare, will rise by 8.82% on July 1st.
Ministry’s Proposal for Delayed Implementation
In January, the Ministry of Health proposed to the social side that minimum wage increases take effect not in July, but in January, starting in 2027, and link wage growth to an indicator with lower dynamics than the current one.
The Ministry of Health estimated the savings from this solution at 4.5 billion PLN.
