Poland 2050 founder Szymon Hołownia expresses betrayal after party members split to form new parliamentary group.
Hołownia on the Split
Founder of Poland 2050 Szymon Hołownia described the party split as “a very sad and bad thing” happening on February 18. He noted he had been the one inviting various groups and individuals to collaborate for six years.
Reason for the Split
Hołownia revealed that the departure of some politicians from Poland 2050 was due to “hatred for Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.” He emphasized that issues related to the party’s program were not a factor in this context.
Feeling of Betrayal
Hołownia stated he feels “betrayed by Paulina Hennig-Kłoska,” adding that “one cannot build political presence on betrayal.” He also admitted that the split is a difficult experience for him, saying “what is happening pains me and tears my heart.”
Poland 2050’s Response
Poland 2050 issued a statement noting that Paulina Hennig-Kłoska lost the election for party chair to Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. The party stated that departing parliamentarians “could not accept the democratic decision of the people who make up our party” and will continue as part of the 15.10 coalition.
