Hołownia Misses Prosecutorial Hearing; Investigators Plan to Question Him on “Coup” Claims

Polish opposition figure Szymon Hołownia skipped a 11 00 summons to the prosecutor’s office on 11 October, despite investigators preparing to question him over remarks about a potential coup d’état.

Summoned to Prosecutor’s Office

Szymon Hołownia was officially notified by the prosecutor’s office to attend a hearing at 11:00 on 11 October. The summons concerned his alleged statements about a “coup d’état.” The candidate did not appear.

Lawyer Declares No Appearance

Hołownia’s legal representative clarified that the Sejm marshal would not attend the questioning. The lawyer emphasized that the marshal’s presence would be unlawful and that the marshal’s power is not to testify.

Documentation Already Supplied

According to the spokesman for Minister Filip Curyło, the Sejm marshal has already provided over ten thousand pages of documentation in previous proceedings. He reiterated that further participation would violate legal procedures.

Statement on the Coup

Hołownia alleged in a Polsat News interview in late July that “there were repeated suggestions for a coup” involving the president and himself. He referred to the president’s election and expressed opposition, though he stopped short of describing a formal plot.
