Hooligan Clash in Kościerzynie: 30 Detained, 10 Hospitalized

Thirty people were detained in Kościerzynie after a clash between football fans, with 10 individuals requiring hospital treatment.

On Monday evening, the Pomeranian police reported a “clash between pseudo-fans of two football clubs” that occurred before 8:00 PM in Kościerzynie. “Police officers immediately took action, and as of now, 13 people have been detained. An alert was announced for officers, including blocking actions. The detention of other individuals involved in the incident is a matter of time,” the police communication read.

On Tuesday morning, officials updated the information. “At this time, 30 people have been detained in connection with yesterday’s event, including two minors,” they conveyed.

10 People Taken to Emergency Room

RMF FM unofficially reported that dozens of Lechia Gdańsk pseudo-fans came to Kościerzynie. They allegedly attacked an MMA club on Traugutta Street, where Kaszubi Kościerzyna athletes, who sympathize with Arka Gdynia, were training.

According to the Kościerzyn District Police Headquarters, as a result of the brawl among pseudo-fans, 10 people were taken to the emergency room. Police actions continue. Currently, officers are focused on identifying the remaining participants of the fight. The police have surveillance recordings.

Kierwiński: These Thugs Think They’ll Get Away with It

Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Marcin Kierwiński commented on the incident in Kościerzynie on social media: “The police will relentlessly combat all forms of aggression, including against foreigners and the criminal behavior of hooligan environments. These thugs think they’ll get away with it because they feel strong support from some politicians. Not at all. Pathology will be combated.”
