A serious accident occurred at the intersection of Grochowska and Zamieniecka streets (Szembeka Square) on Praga-Południe, where one vehicle flipped and struck pedestrians waiting at a green light. Multiple people were injured, with rescuers performing CPR on a 6-year-old child.
Preliminary Findings
Initial investigations indicate a Toyota was traveling on Grochowska Street while a Ford was on Zamieniecka Street. Preliminary reports suggest the Ford may have failed to yield right of way, causing the collision. Following impact, the Toyota overturned and crashed into pedestrians at the crossing.
Casualties and Response
Four pedestrians were injured in the incident. A 6-year-old child suffered cardiac arrest, with paramedics and doctors battling to save the child’s life through resuscitation. Four pedestrians, including the child, were transported to hospital, while both drivers are receiving medical attention.
Emergency Response
Four medical rescue teams, an Air Rescue helicopter (Ratownik12), five fire brigades, and operational groups from the city and Warsaw’s provincial fire service headquarters are responding. The intersection has been completely closed for rescue operations, with 16 bus lines rerouted.
Transport Disruptions
The accident has disrupted multiple bus routes including lines 123, 125, 135, 141, 142, 143, 145, 148, 173, 183, 521, 702, 704, 720, 722, and 730, which have been redirected to alternative routes.

The 6-year-old child who was struck in the accident has died in hospital.
