Polish hospital directors cornered by health ministry inaction, set March 3rd protest to demand reform amid warnings of bankruptcies.
Ministry’s Inaction Sparks Protest
We are somewhat surprised by the situation that has arisen. The moment we announced our decision to protest, no one from the Ministry of Health offered any talks. No one contacted us, there was absolutely no signal from the other side. It seems there is simply no will to talk.
We take note of this. This is not only a slight against us, but also against the local government officials who support us—the Union of Polish Counties, medical chambers, and other organizations.
Protest Set for March 3rd
Therefore, the protest will take place on March 3rd. On that day, we will present our demands and explain to society exactly what is happening.
The atmosphere among directors is one I haven’t seen in years. We feel we are cornered. This time, no one will convince us that things will somehow work out. Either we will sit down for a thorough reform, or we will witness a wave of bankruptcies and department closures that no one will be able to stop.
