HOW DO POLES ASSESS SIKORSKI? “CAUSES DEEP DIVISIONS” [POLL]

A survey shows Polish society is deeply divided in its assessment of Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.

SURVEY RESULTS ON SIKORSKI’S PERFORMANCE

A United Surveys by IBRiS poll for Wirtualna Polska asked respondents to evaluate Radosław Sikorski’s work as Minister of Foreign Affairs. 44.8% of respondents assessed the politician positively, with 20.5% giving a “decidedly positive” rating and 24.3% a “rather positive” one. Conversely, 40.7% held a negative view, with 24.9% choosing “decidedly negative” and 15.8% “rather negative”. 14.5% had no opinion.

DEEP POLITICAL DIVISIONS

“The detailed data show the deep political divisions that Sikorski causes in society,” noted the portal. Among voters of the October 15 coalition (KO, Third Way, New Left), the Deputy Prime Minister enjoys very strong support. 79% of respondents positively assessed him, with 42% giving the highest “decidedly positive” rating. Negative opinions in this group were marginal at just 12%. Among opposition voters (PiS and Confederation), positive assessments were rare at only 12%, with no respondents selecting “decidedly positive”. Critical opinions dominated, with 76% of opposition supporters giving negative assessments, including 51% who were “decidedly negative”.

SIKORSKI IN TRUST POLL

In a separate January IBRiS survey for Onet, Sikorski ranked second in trust ratings. Karol Nawrocki topped the poll with 47.7% trust, down from 51.8% in November and 49.3% in December. Sikorski received 44% trust, up 3 percentage points, while Prime Minister Donald Tusk followed with 41.7%, up 4.4 percentage points. Notably, 2% of respondents indicated they didn’t know the politician.
