A 47-year-old man, Sebastian S., has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after a hunting accident in Graniczna Wieś, Poland, resulted in the death of a 48-year-old.

Unintentional Shooting Leads to Death

A 48-year-old man died after being accidentally shot by a fellow hunter during a hunting trip in Graniczna Wieś, Trąbki Wielkie municipality, on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred while Sebastian S., 47, was unloading his firearm after the hunt, when an uncontrolled shot was fired, fatally wounding the other man. Reanimation attempts were unsuccessful.

Suspect Admits Guilt, Faces Charges

Sebastian S. has been charged with involuntary manslaughter by the prosecutor. He confessed to the crime during questioning and provided a statement.

The prosecutor has imposed a police supervision order and a 10,000 złoty (approximately $2,400 USD) bail as preventative measures to ensure the proper course of the proceedings.

Polish Hunting Association Cooperates with Investigation

The Polish Hunting Association (PZŁ) has expressed its readiness to cooperate with law enforcement in the investigation.

The PZŁ emphasized that safety, responsibility, and adherence to regulations are paramount principles for its members and has filed a notification with the relevant disciplinary prosecutor to investigate the incident.

Potential Prison Sentence

If convicted, the suspect faces a prison sentence of three months to five years.
