Ikonowicz Loses Control on Republika Studio, Declares “Young Man, Don’t Panic”

During a Thursday transmission on Poland’s Telewizja Republika, politician Piotr Ikonowicz confronted host Miłosz Kłeczek over Ukraine fighter‑jet aid, stormed out of the studio in a heated exchange.

Debate Over Ukrainian MiG‑29 Transfer

Piotr Ikonowicz questioned Miłosz Kłeczek about reports that Poland might hand MiG‑29 fighters to Ukraine, asserting that President Karol Nawrocki’s comments reflected an “anti‑Ukrainian” stance and that the jets should be given free of charge. He accused the broadcaster of shifting from PiS to the Confederacy and warned against broadcasting propaganda, insisting that military aid to Ukraine should come without expectation of return.

Ikonowicz Storms the Studio

Unable to endure the pressure, Ikonowicz left the set, unplugged his microphone, and challenged the producer to conduct a serious program rather than a “bazaar.” He accused Miłosz Kłeczek of insulting the station and asserted that those who cannot handle the critique have no place in the studio, citing Poland’s national interest as the priority.

President Nawrocki Claims Lack of Information

On Thursday, 11 December, in Riga, President Karol Nawrocki said he received no brief on aircraft transfers to Ukraine, suggesting a misunderstanding. The Polish General Staff, on 9 December, noted ongoing talks about MiG‑29 delivery and the exchange of drone and missile technology, with future duties to be handled by F‑16 or FA‑50 fighters.
