The Polish Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued a first‑degree rainfall alert for southern and western regions, warning of possible flooding and dangerous road conditions until Monday, 3 November.
Heavy rainfront approaches Poland
A weather front is moving across Poland, bringing intense rainfall. IMGW has issued first‑degree alerts for several southwestern regions.
First‑degree alerts for southern counties
Warnings cover the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, including the counties of Kłodzko, Ząbkowicki, Kamienna Góra, Świdnica, Oława, and Wałbrzych city. The Opole Voivodeship is also affected, with alerts for Nysa and Brzeg counties.
Forecasts predict locally intense showers that could lead to flooding, road submergence, and movement disruptions. The alerts remain in force until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, 3 November.
Heavy rains expected overnight across Lesser Poland and Silesia
IMGW has extended the alert to southern parts of the Lesser Poland and Silesian Voivodeships. Rainfall is projected to start around 2:00 a.m. from Sunday night into Monday and may continue until midnight.
Local totals could reach up to 45 mm, potentially causing rapid rises in river and stream levels.
Hydrological risks and low visibility
Alongside weather alerts, IMGW has issued hydrological warnings. Synoptics caution that river levels could rise, especially in the south.
In north‑western Poland, dense fog is forecast, reducing visibility to as low as 500 m. Road users are urged to exercise extra caution and heed weather updates.
