IMGW’s Long-Term Winter Forecast Predicts Differently Warmer January 2026

Poland’s Institute of Meteorology (IMGW) has released a long-term spring 2025 forecast predicting unusually warm conditions in January 2026 for all 20 analyzed cities. Primary effects include exceeding average temperatures and precipitation rates.

Spring 2025 Forecast Highlights:

Monthly predictions suggest 6 out of 20 cities will exceed average temperatures, including Białystok, Katowice, and Warsaw.

Spring also predicts 7 cities will exceed average precipitation rates, impacting major urban centers.

November and December 2025 Forecasts:

Nine cities (Gorzów Wielkopolski, Koszalin, Poznań, Szczecin, Toruń, Zielona Góra) are predicted to have normal temperatures and precipitation levels in November 2025, while December 2025 is expected to continue this trend for 20 monitored locations.

January 2026 Winter Forecast:
