Polish military reports balloon-like objects entering airspace from Belarus, assessing no security threat.
Military Statement on Border Incident
On Sunday morning, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces issued a communiqué regarding balloon-like objects entering Polish airspace from Belarus on the night of January 31 to February 1, 2026.
The military stated these objects were monitored by radar systems and did not pose a threat to Polish airspace security. The Polish Armed Forces remain on standby.
Border Guard Assessment
The Border Guard identified the objects as most likely smuggling balloons. Every signal of a violation or approach to the border zone is verified by the services.
Previous Incident
This follows a similar incident on Saturday (January 31) when objects from Belarus entered Polish airspace. Based on flight parameters analysis, they were assessed as balloons moving according to current weather conditions.
To ensure safety, temporary restrictions were implemented on civilian aviation in part of the airspace over the Podlaskie Voivodeship. These preventive actions followed existing procedures.
