Independence March 2025: Pyrotechnics and Weapons Ban

Poland’s Independence March 2025 will move through central Warsaw on November 11, while the city imposes a comprehensive ban on weapons and pyrotechnics for the event.

Start Time and Schedule

The march will begin at 3 p.m. on the Roman Dmowski roundabout, following a 1 p.m. rosary prayer and a 3 p.m. official opening with the national anthem.

At 3:30 p.m. the column will begin its march; before noon a “City of Independence” pavilion will operate from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Wisława Szymborska passage, and a Mass for the homeland will be held at 11 a.m. in the All Saints Church on Grzybowski Square.

The event will culminate with Independence Stage concerts and performances at the PGE National Stadium from about 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Route of the March

From the Roman Dmowski circle, the column will travel along Jerozolimskie Avenues, cross Poniatowski Bridge, traverse the Szczeciński Coast, and finish at the PGE National Stadium.

Both organiser briefings and current media releases confirm this itinerary.

Traffic Disruptions

City services will temporarily close roads and alter traffic flow in downtown Warsaw and around Poniatowski Bridge.

Drivers and public transport users should anticipate interruptions along the march route and its surroundings.

Pyrotechnic and Weapons Bans

On October 22 2025 the Mazowiecki voivode issued an order banning the transportation, carrying and use of pyrotechnic devices in all public places of Warsaw, with fines for violations.

The same regulation, effective on November 11, also prohibits the carriage of weapons at the march.

Ministry of Interior Regulation

The Ministry of Interior and Administration released a draft ordinance imposing a temporary ban on carrying or moving unloaded weapons on the national holiday, covering all types of arms as defined by law.

The measure aims to safeguard participants and other public gatherings, remaining in force only for the holiday day.

Organisers’ Response and Legal Action

Independence March organisers have opposed the pyrotechnics ban and the upcoming weapon restrictions, announcing legal steps to challenge the prohibitions.

The case concerning the pyrotechnics ban will be heard in court.
