Independence March Fundraiser Still Short Thousands of Zlotys

On 11 November, Warsaw’s annual Independence March will begin at 2 p.m., but the fundraiser remains far below its 200 thousand‑zloty target.

Fundraising Status

As of 1 p.m. on 11 November, 151,781 zloty had been collected for the event, yet the declared goal is 200,000 zloty. One‑eighth of a million supporters have contributed, and 19 days remain until the deadline.

The organisers emphasize that the 200‑thousand‑zloty figure is only part of the budget; the entire march is projected to cost about 400,000 zloty.

Cost Breakdown

Funds are earmarked for several key areas: construction of three stages and artistic opening and closing shows; training and deployment of several hundred volunteer “Marshal Guards” to maintain safety; reliable radio communication systems; medical protection with fully equipped ambulances and hundreds of medical staff positioned along the route; full event sound‑system from start to finish; field infrastructure including tents, kiosks, toilets, and volunteer support facilities; promotional materials, photography and video documentation; media coverage and public relations; and coordination and logistics for over 600 volunteers who must operate as a single unit.

Route & Timing

The march commences at 2 p.m. from Zronda Dmowskiego, proceeds along Jerozolimskie avenues, crosses Poniatowski Bridge, and continues through Wał Miedzeszyński, Wybrzeże Szczecińskie, and Siwka before concluding at the PGE Narodowy stadium, where a patriotic concert will follow.

Estimated Attendance

Organisers anticipate that up to 100,000 people may participate this year, reflecting the march’s enduring popularity.

High‑Profile Attendees

President Karol Nawrocki is slated to attend this year’s march, underscoring its national significance.
