Police in Kraków detained a 33‑year‑old and his family after discovering a newborn with cocaine in its blood during a raid of an allotment garden, uncovering a drug trafficking ring.
Police arrested the wanted man
The 33‑year‑old was detained by the Kraków Criminal Division under supervision of the Tarnów Regional Prosecutor’s Office for suspected participation in an organized crime group that operates ‘legend’ scams—pretending to be public institution workers or police officers to defraud the elderly. He had previously served a jail sentence and had been avoiding arrest by frequently moving residences, with his family living in the allotment garden plots under extremely poor conditions.
Drugs found in the shed
During the raid, officers discovered a newborn in a cluttered, cold room inside a wooden shed with no heating. In the search, they seized more than 2 kg of marijuana, cocaine and mefedron, along with electronic weighing scales, mobile phones and other electronic devices.
Whole family under drug influence
The infant was transported to a Kraków hospital where tests confirmed the presence of cocaine; both parents also tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. Both the 33‑year‑old and his 30‑year‑old wife were detained and handed over to the Tarnów Regional Prosecutor’s Office. They face charges of participation in an organized crime group, trafficking large amounts of drugs, and endangering the child’s health or life; further arrests are not ruled out.
