During the Radio ZET program “7th Day of the Week”, Polish politicians clashed over President Karol Nawrocki’s refusal to nominate 136 civil servants and 46 judges.
Nawrocki Refuses to Nominate 46 Judges
President Karol Nawrocki announced that 46 judicial nominees would not receive approval. EU Parliament member Bartosz Arłukowicz accused the president of building a political front around himself, citing figures such as Zbigniew Bogucki and Paweł Szereńka. He claimed the nominees, alongside President Zorzyk and the Civic Platform team, intended to create chaos in the judiciary.
PiS MP Janusz Cieszyński defended the decision, stating that judges are not politicians and should remain anonymous, not use social media, and refrain from political commentary.
Debate on Health System Funding
Arłukowicz welcomed the chance to discuss recent difficulties in the health system, highlighting shortages of respirators and personal protective equipment. He explained that financial problems began during the PiS administration, which redirected funds to foundations and personal residences, burdening the National Health Fund with nearly 14 billion zloty.
The guests noted that many hospitals are postponing patient admissions due to financial constraints, as reported by the Supreme Medical Chamber.
