Kierwiński lauds Duda during Radio ZET interview

Poland’s Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński appeared on Radio ZET on Tuesday, December 9, discussing the potential meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish President Andrzej Duda. He said he did not understand the discussion about Zelensky’s invitation of Poland’s president, calling the topic “just a normal thing.”

Kierwiński added that he had not expected to praise Duda, but during the latter’s term contacts with the Ukrainian president were routine.

Zelensky invites Polish Deputy PM Nawrocki to Ukraine

On Monday, President Zelensky announced that he had invited Deputy Prime Minister Karol Nawrocki to Ukraine and expressed readiness to visit Poland if invited.

Polish presidential office emphasizes strong Poland‑Ukraine relations

National Security Council head Marcin Przydacz wrote on X that relations with Poland are important to Ukraine, and that good‑neighbor relations based on mutual respect are also vital. He said that diplomatic contacts preparing the date of the presidents’ meeting in Warsaw are open and active.

Kierwiński cites Donald Tusk as European peace leader

During a London summit with the British, French, and German leaders, Kierwiński explained why no Polish delegation was present, saying the format was aimed at countries more willing to send troops to Ukraine.

He emphasized that Poland had not made and would not make such a declaration. Kierwiński added that Prime Minister Donald Tusk is in regular contact with other European politicians and that he is “one of the European leaders on peace issues.”
