Iran has issued a response to a proposed agreement linked to former President Trump, demanding an end to aggression and reparations for war damages.
Iran’s Conditions for Peace
According to a source within the agency, Iran’s response stipulates an end to aggression and killings by the opposing side, the creation of objective conditions guaranteeing the prevention of future war, and guaranteed, clearly defined compensation for damages and war reparations.
The response also calls for a complete cessation of hostilities on all fronts and with all groups involved in the regional conflict.
Iranian Control of the Strait of Hormuz
Iran asserts its natural right to sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, based on international law, and demands this be recognized as a guarantee of the other party’s commitment fulfillment.
The source noted these conditions are independent of demands presented by Iran during the second round of nuclear negotiations in Geneva, held days before the February 28th commencement of the conflict by the US and Israel.
Distrust of US Negotiation Intentions
A source cited by Tasnim reports that Iran views US claims of negotiation as a “third deception,” alleging the US aims to mislead the world, lower global oil prices, and gain time to prepare for a land invasion of southern Iran under the guise of negotiations.
Loss of Faith in US Commitments
Prior to the potential 12-day war in June 2025, Iran harbored doubts about the outcome of negotiations and US adherence to agreements; now, it expresses complete distrust in US willingness to negotiate.
