Iranian Nuclear Facility in Natanz Struck, Says IAEA Rep

Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA reports a nuclear facility in Natanz was hit during US and Israeli military operations on February 28.

Iran Claims Nuclear Facility Hit

Iran’s ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Reza Nadżafi, stated that a nuclear object in Natanz was struck as a result of US and Israeli military operations on Saturday, February 28. The Natanz uranium enrichment complex is located near the city of Kom, south of Tehran.

The airstrikes followed Tehran’s attacks on Israel and US bases in several regional countries.

IAEA Director Disputes Damage Claims

IAEA Director Rafael Grossi reported no evidence of damage to nuclear installations in Iran. He also mentioned the inability to contact Iranian nuclear authorities.

Neighboring countries have not detected elevated radiation levels, though Grossi warned the situation could change, potentially requiring large-scale evacuations.

Appeal for Restraint to Avoid Escalation

Grossi called for military restraint to prevent further escalation in the region, emphasizing the need to avoid worsening the conflict.
