Warsaw will face major traffic disruptions from Friday to Sunday due to the Ironman 70.3 triathlon and associated events, affecting key arteries from Zegrze through the city center.
Weekend Sports Schedule
The event kicks off Friday, June 5, with the Night Run Warsaw. Saturday features children’s races at the Multimedia Fountain Park, followed by the main triathlon on Sunday. Participants will swim 1.9 kilometers, cycle 90 kilometers, and run 21.1 kilometers.
Night Run Warsaw Traffic Closures
The night run begins Friday at 11:00 PM. Sanguszki Street closes at 10:00 PM, with other streets following at 10:30 PM; traffic is expected to return to normal by midnight. The route includes streets such as Konwiktorska, Bonifraterska, Miodowa, and Krakowskie Przedmieście.
During the race, vehicles cannot travel from Teatralny Square to Senatorska Street. Several bus lines, including 111, 116, 128, 175, 180, 503, 518, and N44, will be diverted via Andersa Street and Bankowy Square.
Access sluices for Old and New Town residents will be managed by police at specific intersections, including Konwiktorska/Zakroczymska and Bonifraterska/Franciszkanska. Parking is prohibited along the route from 9:30 PM, with potential towing at the owner’s expense.
Ironman 70.3 Sunday Logistics
The triathlon begins Sunday at 8:00 AM at the Zegrze Reservoir. After the swim, cyclists will pass through Nieporęt, Marki, and Radzymin, entering Warsaw via Płochocińska and continuing through Wisłostrada to the Multimedia Fountain Park.
For the running segment, athletes will navigate a course including Sanguszki, Konwiktorska, Bonifraterska, Miodowa, and Krakowskie Przedmieście, completing three loops. The entire route will be cordoned off, and pedestrian crossings will be strictly controlled by authorities.
Restrictions and Public Transit
On Sunday, parking bans will be in effect along the entire race route, with vehicles subject to removal at the owner’s expense. Additional parking prohibitions apply to Sapieżyńska and Wałowa streets. Public transport buses will operate on diverted routes throughout the event.
