Israel Orders Demolition of Lebanese Homes, Bridge Destruction Amidst Escalating Conflict

Israel has ordered its military to destroy homes along the Lebanon border and bridges over the Litani River, following clashes with Hezbollah and reported Hamas activity.

Israel Orders Destruction of Lebanese Infrastructure

Israeli authorities have instructed the military to immediately destroy all bridges over the Litani River in southern Lebanon, citing their use for “terrorist activity.”

Clashes with Hezbollah and Reported Casualties

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that nine Hezbollah fighters were killed in clashes in southern Lebanon on Saturday. The fighters were reportedly detected while approaching Israeli soldiers.

Lebanese Death Toll Exceeds 1,000

The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that over 1,000 people have been killed in Israel’s aggression against Lebanon.

Hamas Operative Killed in Israeli Strike

Israeli media reported that Walid Mohammad Dib, a senior Hamas operative responsible for financing the organization, was killed in an Israeli attack in Lebanon last week.

Israeli forces and Shin Bet believe Dib was involved in transferring funds to various Hamas departments in Lebanon, the West Bank, and other locations, as well as “recruiting agents and directing terrorist activity from Syria and Lebanon.”

Escalating Conflict with Iran and Hezbollah

Israel, alongside the United States, has been engaged in conflict with Iran since February 28th. In response, Hezbollah, a pro-Iranian group, attacked Israel in early March, prompting extensive Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon. The stated goal of the operation is the complete destruction of Hezbollah.

The Lebanese government banned Hezbollah from conducting armed activities in March, but the organization refused to disarm. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported over 1,000 deaths in Israel’s aggression against Lebanon as of Thursday.
