Israel’s military has detailed operational plans for three weeks of war with Iran, following government approval of over $827 million in emergency military spending.
Israel’s Plans for Confrontation with Iran
Israeli forces have detailed operational plans for the next three weeks of conflict with Iran, according to army spokesperson Nadav Shoshani on Monday. The Israeli government approved $827 million for “urgent” military purchases the previous day.
Shoshani stated, “We want to make sure that this regime is as weak as possible and that we will weaken all its capabilities, all parts and wings of its structure,” as quoted by Reuters.
Target: Weakening Iran’s Military Infrastructure
The Israeli military’s objective is to “weaken Iran’s ability to pose a threat to Israel through attacks on ballistic missile infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and the security apparatus,” Shoshani declared.
Thousands of Targets Remain in Iran
With over 110,000 reservists mobilized, the Israeli army “still has thousands of targets to attack in Iran,” Shoshani added, noting that further offensive actions were carried out overnight from Sunday to Monday.
Emergency Military Spending Approved
On Sunday, the Israeli government authorized $827 million for “urgent” military acquisitions. While specific details remain undisclosed, the funds are reportedly intended for “security-related purchases” and addressing “urgent needs,” according to the Haaretz newspaper.
Funding Details from Finance Ministry Documents
Israeli media cited documents from the Finance Ministry indicating an “urgent and immediate need to ensure an operational response, including the purchase of ammunition, supply of advanced military equipment, and replenishment of critical combat supplies.”
Government Justification for Extraordinary Decision
The document stated this was an “extraordinary decision solely aimed at meeting the needs arising from the conduct of hostilities.” The funds will be drawn from the state budget approved by the Israeli government on Thursday and expected to be adopted by parliament by the end of the month.
Broader Conflict Context
Israel and the United States began military operations on February 28th. Israeli authorities view Iran as an existential threat. Over 1,400 people have been killed and over 18,500 injured in the fighting, according to the Tehran Ministry of Health. The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) estimates at least 3.2 million people have been displaced.
In a parallel operation against Hezbollah, an Iran-aligned terrorist group operating in southern Lebanon, over 850 people have been killed and over 800,000 displaced, according to authorities in Beirut.
At least 12 people have died in Israeli retaliatory strikes, with at least 16 deaths reported in the Gulf countries and 13 American casualties, including seven soldiers.
