Israeli Army Issues Travel Warning
The Israeli army appealed to Iranian citizens to avoid train travel on Tuesday, warning of potential dangers. The advisory, issued via the army’s Farsi-language social media account, urged people to stay away from trains and railway lines until at least 9:00 PM Iranian time (6:30 PM Poland time).
Israeli army spokesperson Kamal Penhasi, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) in Persian, stated, “For your safety, we kindly ask you to refrain from using trains and traveling by them throughout Iran from now until 9:00 PM Iranian time.”
Defense Minister Signals Continued Attacks
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kac stated that the Israel Defense Forces have been instructed to “continue attacks with full force on the infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime.”
Trump’s Ultimatum to Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to Iranian authorities, demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for navigation. He threatened to bomb Iranian power plants and bridges if the demand wasn’t met by 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday (2:00 AM Wednesday in Poland).
Trump warned that Iran could be destroyed overnight, specifically referencing the potential for action between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Escalation Following February Conflict
Following the start of a conflict between the U.S. and Israel with Iran on February 28th, Iranian authorities blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil and gas export route from the Persian Gulf. Iran also initiated attacks against Israel and targets in Gulf countries, including U.S. bases and civilian petrochemical infrastructure.
