Israeli Military Crosses into Lebanon

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, confirmed he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu authorized the military to occupy additional territories in Lebanon. The stated aim is to protect border communities under fire from Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Lebanese militia.

Beirut Targeted as Strikes Intensify

Following the February 28th joint Israeli-U.S. attack on Iran, Israel struck Hezbollah command centers and weapon depots in Beirut. On March 3rd, the Israeli army reported these operations targeting the Lebanese capital.

Evacuation Orders Issued

Nighttime strikes on Lebanese targets preceded evacuation warnings issued to residents of southern Beirut’s outskirts and other southern Lebanese towns.

Casualties Reported

Earlier, Israel claimed to have attacked over 70 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon and conducted airstrikes on Palestinian Islamic Jihad facilities, killing their military wing commander, Adham Adnan al-Oman. Lebanon’s government reported 52 dead and 154 wounded in Israeli attacks.
