Italian Football Player Saves Polish Woman Attacked by Knifeman Near Venice

A 34-year-old Polish woman was brutally stabbed 10 times by a knifeman in Chioggia, near Venice, while on holiday with her partner. Motorcyclist Alessandro Bellemo, a player for Italian Serie B club Sampdoría, happened upon the attack and jumped to her aid.

Knifeman Attacks Polish Woman

A 34-year-old Polish woman, who lives in Bavaria, was ambushed and stabbed several times by an assailant while on a late-night walk with her dog in Chioggia, a city southwest of Venice. The attacker fled the scene on a motorcycle while still wearing a helmet.

Sampdoria Player Responds to Distress Call

The victim’s urgent call for help was answered by Sampdoría football player Alessandro Bellemo, who, along with his brother, rushed to her aid from a nearby house where he was visiting relatives.

Attacker Apprehended

The injured woman was taken to a local hospital where her severe injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening. Police swiftly identified and apprehended the 25-year-old suspect, who faces assault charges. Meanwhile, a search was conducted overnight for the dog that escaped during the attack, and it was found unharmed the following day.
