Italian Mother Wins Lawsuit to Evict Adult Son

An Italian mother successfully sued her 31-year-old son, compelling him to move out of her home due to his lack of financial contribution and household help.

Mother Sues Son for Eviction

A woman from Ravenna, Italy, took legal action against her 31-year-old son, demanding he leave her house. She argued in court that he failed to contribute to household chores or expenses despite being employed.

Son’s Lack of Support

The mother stated in 2024 that her son’s behavior was unbearable, as he offered no assistance and did not contribute financially to the household. She emphasized he had reached an age where he should be self-sufficient.

Son Quits Job During Legal Battle

During the proceedings, the 31-year-old unexpectedly resigned from his job, seemingly hoping to regain financial support from his mother and sway the court’s decision.

Court Rejects Son’s Attempt

The judge dismissed the son’s gesture, noting he had not actively sought new employment after quitting his job.

Eviction Order and Costs

The court sided with the mother, ordering the son to vacate the premises by June 30th and pay 3,000 euros in legal costs. He was also instructed to find new employment and housing.
