Poland prosecutors have filed an indictment alleging that Zdzisław K., son of former Polish TV chairman Jacek Kurski, raped a 9‑year‑old girl in 2009; a trial is set for Kwidzyn court.
Indictment Filed
On 16 December, the Toruń District Prosecutor’s Office submitted an indictment to the court against Zdzisław K., accusing him of multiple rapes of a nine‑year‑old girl in Gdańsk and a forest lodge in 2009.
Defendant Denies Charges
Since the charges were announced in September, K. has refused to admit guilt, submitting statements the prosecution considers inconsistent with the investigation. He has undergone psychological and sex‑ology assessments, a standard practice in sexual offence cases.
Investigation History
The case first reached prosecutors in 2016 after a girl’s mother filed a complaint that her daughter had been sexually abused by K. The investigation stalled until 2023, when, after parliamentary elections, the claimant’s lawyer requested reopening. The Toruń office resumed questioning, corroborating the girl’s earlier testimony.
Court Proceedings
The trial will be held at the Kwidzyn District Court, but the first hearing date has not yet been set.
