Nationwide Operation

Polish Border Guard and Police conducted coordinated actions throughout the country on March 2-3, aimed at combating illegal migration. As part of the operation, nearly 1800 checks of the legality of stay were carried out, resulting in the detention of over 140 people and the initiation of more than 130 proceedings obliging foreigners to return.

Participation and Scope

Over 700 Border Guard officers from all units in Poland participated in the actions. The checks covered foreigners staying in different regions of the country, focusing on verifying the legality of their presence.

Central Region Focus

In three central voivodeships – Masovian, Łódz, and Kuyavian-Pomeranian – officers of the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit, together with Police, conducted control activities against 412 verified persons. The largest groups identified were citizens of Ukraine (over 130), Colombia (60), and Nepal (59).

Detention and Return Proceedings

As a result of the actions in these three voivodeships, 46 foreigners were detained. Return proceedings were initiated against all detained individuals, mostly concluded with the issuance of appropriate decisions. In 34 cases, the basis for the obligation was illegal stay, while in the remaining 12, the foreigners were deemed to pose a threat to security and public order.
