Jarosław Kaczyński has selected a PiS candidate for prime minister, with PAP identifying four potential nominees and one frontrunner.
PiS Has Chosen a Potential Prime Minister
According to PAP, cited by TVP Info, the main criterion for selecting the candidate was being under 50 years old, as polls indicate voter preference. The candidate must also come from PiS’s top leadership. Based on this, four individuals have been identified: Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Presidential Chancellery; Przemysław Czarnek, a PiS vice president and former education minister; Anna Krupka, a PiS vice president and former sports deputy minister; and Tobiasz Bocheński, a PiS vice president and MEP. Onet reports Bocheński is the favorite. Morawiecki and Jaki were not considered.
When Will PiS Announce the Prime Minister Candidate?
Kaczyński announced he will present the candidate during a major party gathering. An anonymous PiS politician told PAP that while Kaczyński may first discuss it with the party’s leadership, the candidate should be unveiled at a large convention to energize the pre-campaign.
