Kaczyński Condemns Morawiecki’s Group as ‘Parasitic,’ Rules Out Electoral Spots

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński criticized the new “Rozwój Plus” association founded by Mateusz Morawiecki, threatening to bar its members from party lists.

Kaczyński on ‘Rozwój Plus’: Preventing Parasitism

Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, addressed the “Rozwój Plus” association during a press conference, stating the party’s statutes prohibit activity in other political organizations.

He argued that comparing “Rozwój Plus” to other associations with PiS members is irrelevant, emphasizing a difference in intent—specifically, preventing the creation of a new political party within the existing one.

Kaczyński warned against a situation where the association would function as a “parasite” building a new party on the base of PiS.

Electoral Consequences for ‘Rozwój Plus’ Members

Individuals involved with the “Rozwój Plus” association will not be included on the electoral lists of Law and Justice, Kaczyński stated.

Despite this, he acknowledged Morawiecki’s past performance as a “great prime minister,” his current role as a party vice-president, and his position as head of the ECR in the European Parliament, wishing him well but reaffirming the need to uphold the party’s statutes.

Kaczyński asserted that a second party cannot grow out of an existing one.

Kaczyński Advocates for Cryptocurrency Ban

Kaczyński reiterated his support for a complete ban on cryptocurrencies, describing them as a “huge scam” or, at best, a “major abuse.”

The Sejm voted on Friday to re-approve the Act on Crypto Assets Market, with 243 votes in favor, 191 against, and three abstentions.

However, 263 votes were needed to override the presidential veto, meaning the veto stands.

Notably, 17 PiS MPs, including Kaczyński and club chairman Mariusz Błaszczak, did not participate in the vote.

Tusk Criticizes Kaczyński and Błaszczak’s Abstention

Prime Minister Donald Tusk responded to the vote on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Kaczyński and Błaszczak of fearing the truth about a “crypto affair” within PiS and abandoning their party members.
