Kaczyński Criticizes Current Polish Government, Calls for Competent Leadership

Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of Law and Justice (PiS), criticized the current Polish government’s performance, stating the country needs an effective and well-organized administration.

Kaczyński’s Criticism of the Current Government

Jarosław Kaczyński stated on Saturday that Poland requires a capable and well-organized government, staffed by competent and proven individuals, given the challenging economic situation. He assessed that the current ruling team demonstrates a lack of preparedness for governance and operates ineffectively.

Kaczyński accused the current government of implementing a “German agenda in Poland” and exhibiting “incredible incompetence” and unpreparedness to govern.

Infrastructure Investments Under PiS Rule

During a “Thinking Poland” meeting in Łomża, Kaczyński focused on road and rail infrastructure, as well as transport. He highlighted the achievements of his party during eight years in power, citing the construction of 2,100 km of highways and express roads, with another 1,500 km prepared for implementation.

He also pointed to the construction and renovation of 50,000 km of local roads, funded by government programs, and mentioned the plans for the CPK project, which aimed to improve connectivity across the country, but has since been modified.

Stalled and Abandoned Investment Projects

Kaczyński asserted that current investment projects are either delayed, frozen, or abandoned, with no new initiatives launched, all previous plans originating during his party’s tenure. He emphasized that everything intended to drive economic and social development has been replaced by claims of insufficient funds.

He stressed the need to return to the previous program despite the difficult economic situation and a significant public finance crisis, arguing that the current approach is insufficient.

Need for a Competent Government and Rejection of Compromises

Kaczyński stated that Poland urgently needs a highly efficient and capable government to overcome the current challenges, emphasizing that success isn’t solely about electoral results but also about competence. He ruled out any participation of Law and Justice in a compromised government under his leadership.

He insisted on a government composed of prepared and proven individuals, not those who merely speak of their readiness and unfairly criticize past efforts, warning that the latter would lead to failure.

Economic Situation and Public Debt

Referring to the eight years of United Right rule, Kaczyński acknowledged experiencing “huge crises,” including securing funds to save jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing military spending, and implementing costly social policies. Despite these challenges, he claimed his government ended its term with lower deficits and debt than before.

He contrasted this with the current situation, stating that the national debt is increasing by over 1 billion złoty per day, warning of a potential “complete collapse” if this trend continues, similar to what happened in Greece or Italy.

Kaczyński called for imagination, determination, and a realistic plan, emphasizing the need for a truly good government to address the crisis.
